When Himegoto ended there was a little void in me. I know the story had its problems, and the anime has a bad reputation, but I enjoyed Hime and his friends. Probably because it was a comedy ecchi with an otokonoko as main character. And though there were others before and after, I don’t think any of them had the same level of popularity of Himegoto.
So when I found out the author, Tsukudani Norio, released a few doujinshis after the series had ended, I had to get my hands on them. To my surprise, all the stories have been compiled into one book. It’s way thinner than the manga, but it was a good way to see the characters again. And it even has a “secret BL ending” route!
We have five chapters. Four of them could’ve happened at any time in the manga after Mittan and the others from the disciplinary committee were introduced. The other is sort of apart, but I’ll talk about that later.
We start the thin book with Hime mistaking his lunch box, so his only option is to skip lunch. But then Tadokoro gives him a suggestion. How about if he shows his panties for a bit of food?
It was just a joke, of course, and he gives a bit “without charging”

But Hime leaves the classroom because he can’t take the smell of good. As he’s wandering around, he hears panting and moans…?
It’s Mittan and Hiro. After they were interrupted, Mittan complains and say Hiro should do that stuff only at home.

After Hime explains the situation, Mittan shares a bit of food. After that, he talks to Kaguya, who has a wholesome and tsundere moment with #1.
In the end, he meets the student council and gets a bit of food from them as well, having enough for lunch.
But of course the council charges a panty shot for the food.
It was a chapter to remind what the series was about.
The second starts with Hime growing doggy ears (because he’s the council’s dog, get it?). It’s a medicine Unko developed.

Hime didn’t like it, but after the council said he could charge for showing his panties, or nipples (or kissing) he loses to the power of money and caves in.
In the end, Mittan and Kaguya show up, and they’re convinced by Hiro and #1 respectively to take the drink and also grow doggy ears for about 30 minutes.
It was another fun and ecchi chapter.

By the way, the three of them are embarrassed, but they think, if it’s once in a while, they don’t mind doing that.
In the third chapter, the student council goes to Hime’s house after school, and we have swimsuit fanservice (it was hot, so obviously the otokonoko should wear swimsuits at home. Shut up. It does make sense!).

Since Hime cooks, you get an idea what happens, right?
We even got Hime doing a moe moe kyun kyun get delicious spell, which no one reacted, making him super embarrassed. I love cute cross-dressing boys embarrassed like that.
The fourth chapter is the only one that doesn’t “fit” in the original manga.
Have you seen the anime “One room”? It’s like a girlfriend simulation, where the guy (you) never speaks and the girl reacts as if you’re talking to her.
The fourth chapter was like that. It was as if a guy had confessed his feelings for Hime and they were going out. And they even get to the bed. But then it ends, so we don’t know anything.
We know that could never happen because the council would never allow anyone to deflower Hime, so he can’t get a boyfriend.

The last chapter, and the best one for me, is the “secret BL ending.”
Tadokoro realizes he has feelings for Hime, even though he knows he shouldn’t since they’re friends and both guys. But he can’t contain his feelings anymore and kisses Hime. When they stopped, he apologizes and goes away.

The next day, Hime wants to talk to him, but he refuses. He says he’s sorry and that he shouldn’t have done that. But they can’t go back to being friends anymore.
Hime gets angry and then says that he knows Tadokoro doesn’t like it because he’s a guy, but because he’s Hime. And he too likes Tadokoro for being Tadokoro, not because he’s a guy.

Hime gathers his courage and kisses Tadokoro, who hugs him after his initial surprise.

And that’s it.
I say secret ending, but we can’t say it’s really cannon. In my heart, it is, since the doujinshi was drawn by the author, but some might say no and I won’t argue.
I love it because this is what I want from my otokonoko stories. The otokonoko finding romance. We had enough where nothing happened (I’m talking about you, Boy skirt…)
Not that’s bad. It depends on the story.
But a romance is good, no matter the gender. (But I ship otokonoko with guys XD)
