What would you get if you put someone desperate for money and a rich guy with a crying face fetish?
You’d get Girly Boys Get All the Love or also known as Josou Danshi ha Mederareru
But unlike what the initial premise seems, the story is quite nice.
The manga starts with our MC, Ishihara Natsuki making another mistake at work and getting fired. As he struggles what to do, since he needs money to support his younger brother, a random guy sees him. The guy thinks the Natsuki was about to commit suicide and tried to stop him. After they clear the misunderstanding, Midori offers Natsuki a part-time job that pays well (around 500 U$ for one time)
Like a normal person, Natsuki thinks prostitution, and he says he can’t do that. Midori assures him it’s not.
What would you do if random guy though you were going to commit suicide and then offered you money to go somewhere for a few hours?
But Natsuki is desperate, and goes, hoping it’s not prostitution.
And, as it turns out, it’s paying for sex. It’s paying to CRY!
Midori has a crying face fetish… Yeah. He likes to see people crying, but not in a sadistic way. It may sound weird because it is. I’m guessing it’s like watching people crying during sad movies or weddings.
He’s a doctor, by the way, and even with that fetish, he gives his patients the best treatment and rarely sees someone crying. So the job is actually paying Natsuki to cry.
However, there’s a problem. He can’t cry. He was a cry baby when he was a kid, but ever since his father left, his mom said boys shouldn’t cry so easily, so he never cried again. Not even when she passed away.
So our doctor with a crying face fetish tries various methods, but none of them work. (By the way, he also tries making Natsuki recall a sad memory but stops him. Even with his fetish, Midori doesn’t want to make Natsuki suffer)
Then he has another idea. If boys shouldn’t cry so easily, it’d be alright if Natsuki was a girl!
Yep. Time to cross-dress. This is the only reason I bought the manga, by the way.

Natsuki finally cries, and he actually feels better after that.
They decided to continue that strange relationship. However, while Midori starts to become interested, and even worried about Natsuki, Natsuki starts to open up more and more. He even buys a lipstick by himself so he can try crying more.
I won’t spoil more because you can read this on RENTA
Sadly, they do it but without cross-dressing. But despite the weird premise, the story is somewhat wholesome. You care about the characters and enjoy seeing them getting closer and care about each other.
This might not be an Otokonoko work, but it’s still a good read if you’re like me and don’t read BL without otokonoko.
By the way, Midori also cross-dresses once. It’s… well, read and you’ll find out.
